Boring lunches can still be made fun with beautiful colorful fruits and veggies, interactive eating ideas, and simple shape cutters!
Friday, 1/31/14 - Leftover Pizza Dippers
|
Z's lunch: Leftover DF GF Pizza Dippers, DF Ranch, organic carrots, freeze-dried strawberries |
My Leftover Pizza Dippers never fail to be a big hit with my Kindergartener. They always get gobbled up!
Saturday, 2/8/14 - PB Cracker Stackers
Another Kindy favorite is the DIY PB Cracker Stackers, adapted from my
MOMables menu subscription. Putting the peanut butter on the crackers herself takes up more of her preciously short lunch time, but Z loves it, and eats every last morsel.

E's lunch: Organic carrots, grapes, blueberries and raspberries; GF rice crackers w/PB, natural brown sugar cube |
I found these natural brown sugar cubes at Whole Foods, and both girls have been super excited about them. So I included one for each of them, as a treat.
Monday, 2/10/14 - Leftover Macaroni
|
E's lunch: Leftover DF/GF mac-n-cheese, DF "Ranch" kale chips; organic carrots, tomatoes, mango |
The girls keep making me buy mangoes at the farm, but then refuse to eat them. But I'll keep trying, as long as they are open to the idea.

Z's lunch: Leftover DF/GF mac-n-cheese, DF "Ranch" kale chips; organic carrots and mango |
I used a
heart cookie cutter on the mango for both girls, but still they didn't get in more than a lick and a nibble. Oh well. More for Mama!
Tools of the Trade
Yay for leftovers! Looks good :D
