Squishy Snak Pak Reusable Food Pouch Review

Squishy Snak Pak is an eco-friendly reusable food pouch great for at-home or on-the-go!

Pros:

  • Holds 4 ounces - the same amount as the disposable pre-filled food pouches available at the stores.
  • Clear window on the back lets you see what's inside. Very helpful for the forgetful Mama!
  • Attractive neutral design - not "too cute" for the older ones, but not boring and plain
  • Dishwasher-safe, freezer-safe
  • Works perfectly with the Infantino Squeeze Station for easy filling
  • Pouches have a "fill line" to help prevent over-filling and leaking
  • You fill from the bottom rather than part of the top, for a larger opening
  • BPA-free

  • [I was compensated with free product to review. This post contains affiliate links.]

    Cons:
    • Some other brands hold up to 6 ounces, which might be better for larger appetites. On the other hand, these hold the same amount as the pre-filled ones you'd buy in the store, which is clearly a good size for most kids!
    • The company is located in Australia, so the cost to ship to the US and Canada make these a wee bit more expensive than similar products.

Both my girls love eating smoothies, yogurt, or homemade applesauce from their squeezy pouches. I'm seriously considering figuring out a way to incorporate liquid vitamins or powdered medications (to get dye-free meds for my girls, I usually have to crush a tablet or open a capsule and portion out the dose instead of getting the standard children's products.) [Useful Tip: chocolate syrup coats the taste buds, making nasty-tasting meds go down easier...]

Check out my post on making your own smoothies for refillable pouches, over at MOMables! And here are some other quick recipe ideas on yummy and healthy ways to fill your Squishy Snak Pak!

Squishy Snak Pak is great for babies, but also "grows" with your kids. These are a great way to send fruit puree or yogurt to school, instead of expensive disposable food pouches, often filled with extra sugars and other stuff you might not want.
As you can see from the above collage, we've had these for a while. *cough* But now I can personally attest that they're fairly durable. The heavy-duty zip closure hasn't busted open, and despite all attempts to make them too disgusting to reuse by forgetting about them in the diaper bag for a few weeks, a quick soak and liberal use of a bottle brush before running through the dishwasher and they're good as new!
