MOMables Monday: Bagel Pizzables

Once I got the idea to do a bagel pizzable, I couldn't get it out of my head! My only problem was that U didn't think I could fit it all in an EasyLunchbox, because the bagel would take up so much "floor space." But none of the other boxes had big enough compartments either, until I remembered the assortment of Laptop Lunchboxes I got myself Santa brought me for Christmas.
I had to wait for a day when she'd be coming with me, since she can't open the outer box or the inner lidded containers herself, and I hate making her ask the teacher. So we brought this on a late-start day when there was no preschool in the morning, and she came with us to Baby's co-op preschool.

I loved the colors in the Laptop Lunches "Garden" set, so had to get it, even though I already had a purple one from ages ago. But what was going to make this all work was the larger container from the Bento Buddies "Purple Party" set. Now I could fit everything in! I did kind of have to fit the sugar snap peas in higgelty-piggelty, but I made it work.

I put some pizza sauce in a Mini Dipper (the lids are water-tight,) and olives in a silicone muffin cup. Had I been sending this to school, I probably would have packed the olives in a Mini Dipper too, to keep them from flying around. A napkin on top would help, but because they're so wet, I'd be afraid they'd soak in. But I had bought a Laptop Lunches Dual-Compartment Tote because it carries them flat, and I was in charge of carrying all the lunches, so I wasn't worried about it getting knocked around too much.

The bagel is half of an Udi's Gluten-Free, and I toasted it and sprinkled on a little garlic powder. The other half was mysteriously eaten the night before, when this was packed. Possibly toasted with butter and garlic powder...

I was wanting to try them on some dairy-free cheese options, since I'm lactose intolerant, and if the gluten isn't the cause of Z's tummy pains, cutting dairy is the next thing we'd try. Bleah. But the Daiya "cheese" shreds looked so strange and spongy. I figured she might not notice if I mixed them in with real mozzarella shreds, and I could see if she thought something was off and segregated the fake cheese away, like she did when I tried her on some almond-based "cheddar." She didn't notice a thing!

I included a spork in the long skinny compartment to help her spread the sauce. And I'm pretty sure I tucked a cloth napkin in there too, but must have done it after the initial photos.

Z was very proud of her pizza creation! Ta-Da!
