Tried-It-Tuesdays - November 2012

This past month I tried my hand at a little ghost-writing, but it's all hush-hush, so I can't tell you much more than that. Other than that I was both terrified and exhilarated. And all parties involved agreed it came out amazeballs. *toots own horn*

We also had Z's social/emotional evaluation with the school district's ChildFind program this month (like Early Intervention, but for 3-5) She scored lower than we expected, and qualified for services in their special preschool program. Which she actually began attending this week.
I thought for sure she'd either not qualify or barely qualify, so clearly I've been avoiding situations that she would have issues with and anticipating and mitigating when we couldn't avoid the problem situations. So while on the one hand I've been a great mom working with my child to help keep her functional, by not testing her boundaries I haven't been forcing her to learn to cope. Argh.

This month I also made my own ketchup for the first time. Which was a mixed success. Tastes ah-mazing. Except with fries and other ketchup-y foods. So really I made very thick pasta sauce.

But my favorite new thing this month is the "giant spiders" out of olives on cream cheese webs. They were super simple, and even Hubby was impressed. Little Z loved them! For that day's lunches I also cut my food into shapes intentionally for the first time ever. Normally I'm too lazy to wash extra tools just for my lunches!
